The Michipicoten Club was established in 1976 under the leadership of Tom Baxter.
It runs from Highway 17 North to follow the Magpie River valley, south along the coast to Bridget Lake. An old, little-used section runs from Bridget Lake south to Noisy Bay in Lake Superior Provincial Park.

There is a small but dedicated group trying to re-establish the Wawa Club. If you are interested, please call our Michipicoten Voyageur Trail Club Contact: Andy Stevens 856-2884

Michipicoten Trail Conditions

The current status of the Crown access road that leads to Michipicoten Post Provincial Park is that it is open to public travel and provides access from Hwy 17 to the Voyageur Trail entrance(across from the private property), leading to Driftwood Beach via the trail which is located on Ontario Parks land. We prefer that the visitors park their vehicles up near Hwy 17 and not directly across from the landowners property or at the gate located on their property, as this may block access for the landowners and other public users.
